I was a Facility Manager with the City of London, specializing in aquatic operations, with over 34 years of operational experience. I am passionate about the work I do and strive to keep learning. I also enjoy teaching, and have a wide instructional background. Besides the work I am doing with OPA, I am an active instructor with the National Swimming Pool Foundation as a Certified Pool Operator Instructor.
I was privileged to work on the technical committee and be part of the Model Aquatic Health Code (MAHC) sponsored by the Centre of Disease Control. This groundbreaking project gives aquatic professionals a template for best practices and science. I have continued my membership in the Council for the Model Aquatic Health code (CMAHC).
My education over the past few years has included a certificate in project management, certification in management, and a P. Mgr designation from the Canadian Institute of Management. I enjoy being active, having trained in Martial Arts since 1976, and I continue to run a small club. I have also been fortunate to have coached my daughters through competitive soccer.
As an advanced Toastmaster, I also enjoy public speaking, and have spoken at conferences on the MAHC, and moderated at the World Aquatic Health Conference.
