invites applications for the position of

Parks Seasonal – Maintenance

Community Services Department

(Contract position, 40 hours per week)

Working under the direction of the Supervisor, Parks, the successful candidate will assist in maintaining public parks, trails, walkways and associated amenities and facilities to include but not limited to: general repairs, painting, building/maintenance outdoor rinks, inspecting playground, cleaning, collecting refuse, litter picking, assisting in the general maintenance of trees, shrubs, perennials and annual plants. The Parks Seasonal – Maintenance will be performing maintenance of sports fields and turf maintenance of multi-purpose sports pads, and other duties as required. This is a temporary contract position, the dates of which are April 23 to October 11, 2019.  

This position involves physically demanding work in adverse weather conditions. The successful candidate must be prepared to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, and provide direction to a crew of student labourers as required.

The ideal candidate will have attained his/her secondary school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalence, and possess a valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s license. Preference will be given to applicants with previous park maintenance experience.

Hourly Range: $25.06 - $29.32 per hour, Band 5 on Town’s 2018 pay grid
