Irrigation Workshop

Instructed By:

Steven Hernandez
This one-day Irrigation Workshop has been designed specifically for our frontline Parks staff, addressing irrigation issues as they pertain to parks and sports fields. The morning session will take place in-class, with the afternoon session consisting of a number of outdoor demonstrations.

Topics that will be covered:

  • Irrigation Service Spring and Fall
  • Service and Repairs with Demonstartions

  • Irrigation Controls

  • New technologies - wireless soil monitoring, weather-based control and central control

  • A full afternoon of outdoor onsite demonstrations

Want to host this session?

For this 1 day session we require a classroom that can accommodate approximately 30 people and has a projector and screen and whiteboard available. The host facility also needs to be within a short distance (preferably walking distance) to an irrigation demo site (preferably a sports field) available to be turned on.

The irrigation site should have readily available:

  • an accessible and viewable controller
  • a shut off valve and winterization port
  • accessible valve box or boxes
  • water that can be turned on for testing the system

Please email training@ontarioparksassociation.ca to find out available hosting dates.
