During a visit on December 4, 2008, Julia Morton-Marr was briefed on the progress in preparing the Hokule'a, a double-hulled Polynesian voyaging canoe, for an upcoming trip to the South Pacific.

Julia Morton-Marr was privileged to attend a re-dedication ceremony of the Peace Garden during a visit on December 2, 2008.  She was also able to visit the computer lab and observed their vermicomposting system using earthworms to recycle food scraps.  Julia was fortunate to have a chance to make a return visit to Hokulani Elementary in October 2010.

Julia Morton-Marr was pleased to attend a re-dedication of the Kamaile Peace Garden on December 4, 2008.  Several students performed a number of Hawaiian dances, followed by a luncheon featuring local organic foods. John Southworth provided a demonstration in the use of technology in education.

IHTEC founding President Julia Morton-Marr attended the Peace Garden dedication ceremony on December 2, 2008.  Click on the 'Teacher Resources' button on the left side of this page and follow the links to Project Pono.  During a return visit on October 18, 2010, Julia was able to observe the progress of the Peace Garden development and the creation of a 'Path of Peace' connecting schools on the campus.  On October 19, 2010 a workshop was held at the Laboratory School for 24 teachers both on site, and via a remote video conference link to other Hawaiian islands.  On September 24, 2012 Julia made a return visit to view the contining development of the Path of Peace and the Grade 2-3 Learning Landscape.  The whole school was rededicated as a "Lighthouse School".
