Robin Horsford

I am a Canadian Certified Playground Inspector since 2000, and owner/operator of Pegasus Playground Services Inc., an independent playground inspection/consulting firm.  As an active member of CAPP, I became a member of the team that developed the OPA course Playspace Accessibility Training (Your Guide to Barrier Free Playspaces and Access for All!).  In addition, I have been fortunate to (occasionally) assist Peter Kells with instruction of the OPA course Registered Playground Practitioner.

I was born in Trinidad, West Indies and I came to Canada in my early twenties. I graduated from Seneca  College  in Resource Engineering Technology with additional courses in Construction Management. I have been married for 30 year and have three children.

For over 20 years, I was a Project Designer/Co-ordinator in the Site Services Section of the Scarborough Board of Education (presently known as the Toronto District School Board).  There I gained extensive experience in site surveying, soils investigation, the design and installation of sewers and sub-drainage systems, sports and play structures, asphalt and concrete paving, including the development of standards for pavement insulation in frost susceptible soils.
